Petra Adlam

Through working for a year as a waitress, I've been able to learn many customer service skills and handling high-pressure situations with composure, maintaining excellent service standards even during busy shifts. I've developed strong multitasking abilities and cleaning skills with various areas of the restaurant. We used cash registers, EFTPOS machines, handled money, used the Uber Eats and Menulog computers and used the work computer to service customers. I collaborate with team members to consistently provide quality service and remind calm and poised during busy shifts and difficult customers.

Throughout all of 2023 and 2024 and now 2025, I have spent more than an hour a week at my school's Kindergarten. I provide community service through assisting the teachers and children, cleaning the space, building connections with the children and more.

Almost every week for years I have volunteered weekly at Rock Church. I volunteer in the children's minister, sound and media desk, music team, hospitality team and really where ever I can help. Serving and attending church is my passion and my faveolate thing to do.

In 2023, I was able to do a lot of community service through my school. We served through the Salvation Army, Loved and Shared, Mercy Place, tree planting and more with Marko Wakim. It was a great opportunity and I'd love to be able to do more of it. Also in 2023, I volunteered with the Warrnambool City Council FReeZA. There I was able to learn a variety of skills such as planning, organizing and executing events for the community.

In this job, I worked casually, whenever I am needed. We milked 200 to 400 cows in a few hours. Through this job, I learnt a lot about agriculture and farm life, how to milk cows, cleaning the diary with a pressure hose, proper sanitation, caring for sick cows, using farm tools and stock handling.
