  • I was based in a large sawmills that had in recent years built a large Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Plant
  • I worked closely with the Management,Health and Safety engineers, Mechanical engineers and Operators onsite
  • Our involvement on the site included the operation, maintenance, safe running and overall improvement of the running of the plant
  • We focused on a number of projects proposed for the plant to improve its efficiency and overall running
  • We carried out repair and upgrade work, during a number of shutdowns, on the furnace, boiler, pumping equipment, economisers and ESP (Electrostatic Precipitator)
  • All these works were aimed at improving the overall running of the plant and also to improve its efficiency
  • We also looked at the health and safety policies that were active onsite and suggested a few changes that would greatly improve the safety and smooth running of the plant.
