VISITING RESEARCH FELLOW

  • I have participated in the department’s research activities, including the research clusters, workshops, and various faculty or staff meetings
  • I have presented various research materials related to migration, globalization, and aspirations to internal and external colleagues in different forums
  • I was introduced to research grant writing, focusing on the formulation of different work packages and budgets
  • I have also participated in other forums with fellow PhD students, such as workshops to discuss research-related issues
  • I have used the time mostly to write my PhD thesis
  • I now have a fully-fledged draft nearly ready for submission.

TEACHING ASSISTANT

  • I have offered teaching assistance in Language, Symbols, and Society and Meanings of Life courses
  • Contributed to creating course outlines and exams, which were then uploaded to Blackboard’s educational platform
  • I also mark examinations and help in the collation and dissemination of grades
  • I manage Blackboard, which includes setting it up and adding course materials, announcements, and information
  • I am in charge of coordinating communications between the department, students, and professors
  • I set up an online learning platform (ZOOM) and managed it during lectures
  • The lectures have between 60 and 100 master’s and 140 to 200 undergraduate learners

  • I lectured and graded exams for courses in civil society, development theory and practice, mediation and negotiation skills, non-violent conflict resolution, youth mainstreaming in conflict and development, governance and development, human rights, health and development, human resources management, management of development organizations, multilateral institutions and development partnerships, and entrepreneurship and enterprises in development
  • I created a degree program in development studies
  • I supervised several research projects (15) during my tenure.

CROWDFUNDING ASSISTANT

  • I participated in the planning and design of the civic crowdfunding campaign
  • I was part of the communication and public relations team and mainly used social media platforms for campaign marketing
  • I reviewed grants’ budgets, monitored progress and changes, and ensured compliance with the university’s and country’s policies
  • We designed the logic frameworks for the department and monitored and evaluated their implementation.

  • I participated in monitoring and evaluation research within the organization and formulated several weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports for various levels of the organization’s reporting structure
  • I participated in the logical framework development and management
