• Classification of Cotton
• Under the direction of the General Manager, supervise and liaise with other classing staff to ensure consistent and uniform results
• Provide support to the Operations Manager to ensure smooth daily operations
• Closely monitor consistency and accuracy of HVI results. This includes ensuring that HVI equipment is calibrated and checked as per the guidelines detailed in the ProClass Quality Manual
• Ensure that all procedures outlined in the ProClass Quality Manual are adhered to
• Under the direction of the Operations Manager, supervise and direct casual staff
• Wherever possible, ensure that cotton with the earliest ginning date is given priority when "traying up" and testing
• Monitor and report on the performance of HVI operators, particularly in regards to quality of results and throughput
• Assist the Technical Manager in any repair and maintenance required on HVI equipment
• Monitor and report on the performance of all other plant and equipment in the facility
• Support and foster a positive workplace health and safety culture within the company. Encourage all staff to conduct their duties in a safe manner and to report any incidents of injuries or near miss as soon as possible. Liaise with General Manager on any safety issues that may arise
• In conjunction with office staff, ensure that the facility runs smoothly in the absence of the General Manager. This includes ensuring customers are given up to date information on the timing of classing results received upon their request
