  • For the 2022 CMS Multicultural Radio Youth-week takeover, I had the opportunity to speak about the effect of social media on our generation.
  • Collaborated with producers to plan innovative programming to attract new listeners and retain current ones.
  • Canberra's Multicultural Festival in 2023 celebrated it's 25th anniversary. University of Canberra hosted stall for the student radio channel The owl - UCFM 87.8. I hosted a segment on the rich history and community the multi-cultural festival brings to Canberra.
  • Conducted insightful interviews with guests, providing valuable information and entertainment to listeners.
  • Delivered live reports from community events, showcasing local culture and happenings on the radio platform.

For about half a year, before I took the Customer service Host promotion at the Hellenic Club, I worked casually as a carer to a 7 year old girl with special needs. I throughly enjoyed this job and took away many life lessons from working with Ayia, we challenged each other and she helped me grow many of the skills I have today.

  • I worked at the National Library and Australian National Botanic Gardens sister cafes for quite a few years on and off as a holiday job
  • This role taught me the importance of keeping up to date with an ever changing menu, understanding a variety of cuisines, hospitality cash registers and point of sale (POS) systems and procedures, handling financial transactions, preparation of hot and alcoholic beverages, welcoming and seat guests (performing hostess functions), clearing tables, assisting in the kitchen (clean dirty dishes), and delivering meals to tables
  • I have learnt how to deal with difficult customers, and how to work as a team with both kitchen and front of house staff
  • Having a job like this has shown me how to use my initiative, stay busy and find something to do
  • I adhere to workplace health and safety policies, and always treat people with respect.

  • Through this position I was required to serve customers and take orders within a certain time limit
  • I was trained on how to deal with difficult customers, clean the various restaurant areas (different standards for each area), operate cash registers, and liaise with customers on special orders
  • This position developed my skills and abilities including communication, conflict resolution, personal development in terms of presentation, accountability, and time-management, along with a greater understanding of the financial needs and goals of the company.

Primary School WEX

Sacred Heart Primary School
  • During year 12 I undertook WEX at my old primary school Sacred Heart Primary School in Pearce, working in the kindergarten room and students in years 5 and 6.
  • Through this experience I realised how important early childhood education is. One teacher in a classroom with thirty six-year-olds, all varying in levels of knowledge and needs, is a tough job. The respect I have for teachers is unmatched after my work experience.

Canberra Hospital (renal Care Unit)

Student Work Experience
  • My placement at the Canberra Hospital was in the renal care (dialysis) unit.
  • My appreciation for the nursing sector is immense - nurses work fearlessly, tirelessly and with such compassion. Not only do they constantly monitor and administer to the patients’ needs but create relationships with them to make them feel safe and comfortable. They display resilience, courage and kindness while being completely professional. This taught me to always be hard working whenever taking on a new challenge, and to always show people the respect and kindness you would want to be given when asking for help.
