  • Autonomous Mobile Robot for Ball Delivery (Team Project - 4 Members)
    Objective:
Design and build a self-navigating robot to rapidly transport and deposit small balls into vertically oriented tubes at varying heights on a platform.
    Responsibilities & Contributions:
Spearheaded the design, prototyping, and integration of a motorized telescoping arm featuring a compact servo motor for precise angular positioning.
Engineered a specialized end-effector (bucket-style gripper) optimized for rapid acquisition and reliable release of spherical objects to meet high-speed operational requirements.
Contributed significantly to mechanical design iteration, component selection, hands-on fabrication, and system integration/debugging.
Outcome: Achieved 2nd Place in the competition, demonstrating the functional reliability, positioning accuracy, and operational speed of the robotic arm and gripper system.
  • Solar-Powered Cooker Prototype Development
    Objective:
Design and construct a portable solar cooker meeting key criteria: portability, user-friendliness, high thermal efficiency, and low manufacturing cost.
    Responsibilities & Contributions:
Optimized the Optical Concentration System: Led the reflector panel design and enhancement, implementing surface treatment techniques to achieve high reflectivity (mirror finish).
Applied Engineering Analysis: Performed optical calculations to determine optimal focal geometry; subsequently designed and manually formed custom-curved reflector surfaces to ensure precise solar energy concentration onto the target cooking area.
Participated in overall structural design, material sourcing, and cost-effective manufacturing strategies.
Outcome: Successfully delivered a fully functional prototype; reflector optimization significantly enhanced optical concentration efficiency, validating the design's practicality and innovative approach.

Key Skills Demonstrated: Both projects required end-to-end involvement from conceptual design to functional prototype fabrication, significantly advancing my practical expertise in mechanical system design, kinematic mechanism implementation, material selection & processing, applied engineering calculations, and hands-on rapid prototyping.
