Work History

Doctor of Philosophy

University of Queensland
10.2016 - 04.2021
  • Impulse Stimulation of acoustic waves or elastic waves for coal cleats is an effective method to improve the permeability of coal which can enhance the production of oil and gas in unconventional reservoirs. The aim of the project is to develop theoretical models from simple to complicated to study the basic mechanism of the effect of impulse waves in small-scale structures(eg Pores, cleats, the interfaces between different materials ).
  • CT scan is applied during the project and CT scan slices of coal samples are used as a field data to verify the feasibility of the numerical simulation methods.
  • Numerical simulation: apply and extend the existing finite difference based computational model, code, advanced infrastructure at the University of Queensland including super-computing and visualization facilities (Centre of Geosciences Computing, GeoComp) and the field experience and data from the industry partners.
  • The detailed analysis for the effects of different physical attributes of ultrasonic wave on permeability enhancement of coal seam gas reservoirs. The detailed analysis for the effects of structures, geometry, composition, material attributes of coal on permeability enhancement.
  • CT image processing, physical property evaluation and numerical simulation model building.
  • Research achievements:
