Senior full stack software developer in group of 4 developers

Goals: Develop a public website for NT police, fire and emergency services, which allow businesses and NDIS workers to apply for a clearance to allow them to work with disability people.

Main responsibilities:

  • Only developer who built a public portal which allow customers to apply for a NDIS certificate to work in NDIS industry.
  • Partially design system architecture: In government project, the system architecture was designed and approved by security team and board of directors before starting implementation. However, during the development phrase, I found out that the design was missing some architectural components which are required to integrate with third party, so that I promoted my redesign architecture component to fix the issue. It was approved and developed.
  • Integrated system with SmartIQ to provide a dynamic application form scheme.
  • Integrated other government system and APIs.
  • Integrated system with Telstra SMS services.

Achievement: The public portal was developed and go live since https://pfes.nt.gov.au/NDISCheck

Revconnect project (August 2023 – August 2025)

Senior full stack software developer in group of 6 developers.

Goals: Develop an enterprise website system for Department of Treasury to replace over ten out-date systems which are currently running in Northern Territory state. The system is included:

  • External portal to allow NT residents, non NT residents, and businesses to apply for around 16 different taxes using online forms, instead of using partially paper form or phone call.
  • Internal portal to allow treasury officer to asset the online application case by case, based on customer registration. The system also has a financial algorism to assist the officer to generate taxation calculations, interests and penalties to allow the officer to finalise the tax payment and send out email to customers.

Main responsibilities:

  • Senior developer who involved in development of both internal and external portals
  • Main responsibility to build application forms (new, cancel, withdraw, update, annual tax declaration) and case processing algorism of some taxes, such as: conveyance by return, payroll tax, stamp duty, gambling, insurance.
  • Integrated other old government systems and APIs.
  • Integrated system with Telstra SMS services.
  • Integrated system with BPAY, NAB services.

Goals:

  • Cooperated with development team to upgrade new functionalities of current IMS system to adapt new business requirements from councils and government agencies.
  • Assisted in development of an Incident Management System (IMS) used by Queensland Councils to manage all disaster events across the state.

Main responsibilities:

  • The IMS has a built-in customer support ticket module, which allowed any IMS users can add their requests of new enhancements, questions, enquiries of assistant, or bug reports.
  • I am the first person to acknowledge the incoming ticket and initial the communication with users to inform them development team has received request.
  • Identify the bug or not by replication it on dev environment based on user story.
  • Transfer bugs fixing tasks to a team member or self-fixed that bug depend on assignment.
  • If request is enhancement, then assign to implement queue or scaled up to directors to issue new quotation for the scope of work.
  • Responsible for testing and quality control and assisted both company and stakeholders to build final test quality reports to address all requirements.
  • Responsible for the quality assurance once the bug is fixed and deployed to AWS server.

Achievement:

  • A team member of Gold Coast Flood Intel project phrase 1. The system will issue the flood warning by SMS or email registered to communities whenever the water gauges triggered when the water is rising.
  • Built most of user view PDF reports in IMS.
  • Assisted dashboard team centralised data in one single data source to deal with peak number of public accesses to dashboard.
  • Optimise 50+ disaster dashboards UI to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidance 2.1 which is the user-friendly standard for disability people.
  • Delivered UAT report template and details of test cases to stake holders, and they were widely accepted and satisfied by customers.
  • Self-developed automation testing skill, using Selenium and provided the training to other staffs.

Goals:

  • Developed a prototype of Incident Management System (IMS) to bid for a tender of Department of Transport (TMR), which was used to manage traffic and transportation of competitors during Commonwealth Game 2018.
  • Built an IMS system and supply to TMR as System As A Service (SaaS).

Main responsibilities:

  • Join a team of 3 developers and manager in mid of November 2016 at the time QIT Plus was bidding for Commonwealth 2018 project. The team built the first prototype template of IMS within 2 weeks to submit for that project.
  • The company won the tender, and the development team of 5 developers had spent 1 year to build a system and delivered to Department of Transport (TMR) Gold Coast before the Commonwealth Game 2018 started. The development team also supported on-site at TMR office in Nerang, together with Police, Emergency, SES, councillors.
  • The only developer built the Guardian Command system used by Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA) to manage disaster supporting activities. The Guardian Command is web-base, and include all functionalities of Microsoft Owin authentication, and authorization. The system is integrated with main IMS system to share councils event alerts, and embedded GIS leaflet to present data on GIS map. The system can monitor, as an overview level, of all active operations, incidents, requests for assistance of all councils, so that stakeholder can support within their role.
  • Tester role: Once development is completed, volunteer to be a tester as the company is small and does not have budget to employ tester.
  • Assist company to promote the IMS to Vietnam and Laos market.

Achievement:

  • Receiving appreciation letter from Minister of TMR for assistant onsite during Commonwealth Game 2018.
  • Guardian Command was used by QRA for more than one year, as contract, during their internal transition to new version.
  • Assisted QIT Plus to introduce IMS to Hydro Power Dam companies, and Department of Science and Technology in Laos and Viet Nam markets.

Main responsibilities:

  • a software developer of GEM 300 Automation. The system was required to be installed in a main server, which had only 500MB RAM.
  • System was required to be running for 2 years continuously without overflowing memory, crashing or resetting. System must comply with Industrial SEMI Standard GEM 300, which has thousands of pages of semi-conductor industrial concepts and designs.
  • The GEM 300 development team had over 15 developers and 4 testers dealing with numbers of different manufacturing processes.
  • Business analysts were in Japan to work closely with stakeholder. The project management was applied spiral and waterfall methodologies.

Achievement: GEM 300 system was operated in some FABs in Japan.
