I am passionate about loving God and loving others, and seek to serve faithfully in any role that is given me. I am gifted in helping and encouragement, and possess strong interpersonal skills and people management.
The role focuses on the integration of new people into the City on a Hill Geelong Church community.
As connections coordinator I actively develop and communicate a vision for Connections at COAH Geelong, recruit new connections team members and lead that team, lead regular team training events, organise Newcomer Information Nights, as well as oversee a church wide system for effective connection and integration of newcomers into the life of the church.
Over the past five years I have regularly taught as a CRT at Covenant. I have taught all subjects in all year levels, with a focus on upper primary through to senior school. I have intentionally sought to be a consistent, loving presence, shining the light of Jesus to each and every student that I have been privileged to teach.
I was responsible for redeveloping the school's Religious Education curriculum, to ensure that desired learning outcomes were being met by including more relevant and rigorous formative and summative assessments.
Teaching RE to students of mixed religious and ethnic backgrounds in an inclusive and relevant way, that respected various beliefs without losing the integrity of the Christian content.
During my time at Mt Evelyn Christian School, I taught English Unit 1&2 and 3&4, Religion and Society Unit 3&4, Text and Traditions Unit 1&2, Industry and Enterprise – yr 10 and Information Technology Unit 1&2. My time there was rich and formative as I developed as a graduate teacher.
