I opened my own private physiotherapy practice, High Peaks Physiotherapy, in October of 2020. I am very proud of this achievement.
Since opening High Peaks Physiotherapy, I have seen a large variety of clinical cases including a mixed musculoskeletal caseload, chronic pain patients, acute sports related injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, Oncology rehabilitation, Lymphoedema patients and Lipoedema patients.
My daily and weekly skills required in my current role include:
As a small business owner I have also had to work on marketing strategies, website design and building report and trust with local referral sources.
I complete the bookkeeping work for my small business, and have become efficient with time management to complete these tasks in a timely manner each month.
I worked full time at In-Balance Physiotherapy managing a full clinical case load, which was often around 40 consultations per week. Whilst working at In-Balance I build strong connections working closely with Launcestons McGrath breast care nurse to improve pre-habilitation and rehabilitation of breast cancer patients. Also working closely with local breast surgeons to implementan early intervention model of care to reduce risk of development of Lymphoedema for breast cancer patients in North of Tasmania.
Throughout this time at PhysioTas I worked full time with a busy clinical caseload at multiple clinic locations.
I completed further study into Oncology Rehab during this time completing my PINC & STEEL Oncology Rehabilitation certification. As well as my Level 1 Lymphoedema training through Lymphoedema education solutions in Melbourne.
Clinically I treated and managed a mixed caseload including:
I worked in this practice for two years as a new graduate physiotherapist. I was lucky to be exposed to large variety of different patient presentations in my clinical case load.
I saw a large amount of sports related injuries and worked closely with patients in goal setting throughout their rehabilitation to return to sport.
