As the Marketing Manager for Monkey Media I work directly with senior management to develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies for both clients and the Monkey Media brand. I also provide regular progress reports to senior management to ensure each project is on track. These reports include company projects, team member performance and client management. Role summary:
CRM and Team Expansion:
- Collaborated with a Salesforce implementation partner to transition from the existing CRM and digital marketing platform to Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Sales Cloud. This involved tidying up and updating over 50,000 data records, creating detailed briefs on key business automations to be rebuilt in Marketing Cloud and undergoing testing to ensure the new processes met the company needs. A large part of this project also involved training other teams on how to use both Sales Cloud and Marketing Cloud.
- Currently in the process of transitioning from Marketing Cloud to Account Engagement.
- Led the expansion of the marketing team at Monkey Media from a one-person team to a six-person team responsible for managing client packages, Monkey Media marketing campaigns, and various other projects.
Client and Team Management
- Actively listen to client needs, establishing a robust understanding of their goals and demonstrating how Monkey Media products and services contribute to achieving a positive ROI.
- Produce comprehensive reports for clients, showcasing campaign highlights, providing clear insights into areas for improvement and growth .E.g. These reports are aimed at educating clients about the importance of consistent brand education and lead nurture in the B2B space and to avoid focusing on vanity metrics.
- Developed new products and services to adapt to the evolving needs of our customers. E.g. Pitched a lead nurture product for clients who had a successful lead generation campaign but weren't sure how to convert them. This product was eventually launched in November this year.
- Effectively communicate company goals to the marketing team, ensuring alignment with overall objectives. Oversee and coordinate the marketing team, ensuring a cohesive effort to achieve goals and fostering skill growth among team members.
- Resolve any issues amongst marketing team members and also between different teams in the company. E.g. Often different teams will work together on a client campaign and we had a situation where separate conversations were happening in Slack DMs, emails and in person. So introduced the use of Slack channels for specific clients where the relevant team members could collaborate in one place.
Sales team support:
- Collaborate closely with the sales team, providing them with the necessary tools to convert prospects into customers. E.g. I helped compile benchmark stats for prospects to gain an understanding of the results they can expect and also helped develop case studies.
- Assist in the renewal of existing customer contracts by showcasing successful elements of previous campaigns and proposing strategies for further improvement to achieve even better results. E.g. To improve the communication between sales and marketing, I implemented a monthly renewals meeting to discuss the strategy for each client and address any issues.
Lead Generation and Nurture:
- Use Cloud Pages for lead capture and Journey Builder for lead nurture. Categorise these leads based on demographic info and marketing interest to ensure they receive the relevant nurture information.
- Both Flows and Journey Builder used to assign tasks to the sales team and automations that will create or update lead records in the CRM.
- Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure that the lead nurture tracks contain high quality content suited to the lead, addressing industry pain points and how a particular product can overcome these.
- E.g. Set up lead capture and nurture for prospects who download our advertising kits.
Digital Marketing:
- Develop and execute LinkedIn ad campaigns to promote products. Track campaign success using LinkedIn Campaign Manager, setting up conversions for analysis. E.g. Created Spotlight ads retargeting our prospects list and a lookalike audience built from this list. One of these ads actually introduced one of our biggest customers to the brand.
- Set up and manage Google Ads for retargeting users across different brand websites. E.g. Created responsive display ads for our clients to drive traffic to their websites.
- Facilitate communication across teams by translating technical processes, such as addressing website issues, into clear and comprehensible terms for non-technical team members. E.g. Any website issues or questions are sent to me, I then determine if I can assist. If I can help and the problem is new, I'll create a system to avoid the team encountering the same issue again. If I can't solve the problem, I'll work with the web developer to find a solution. See below.
- Liaise with our web developer to ensure all websites are functioning optimally, leveraging a strong understanding of WordPress to address any issues and streamline communication between marketing and development teams.
