Raelyn Andrew

Redcliffe

Summary

I have worked closely with Child Safety and Youth Justice as a CPIU Detective and am familiar with Case Plans and have assisted Child Safety with completing assessments on families and youths so they could be provided with the best supports available. I am familiar with child protection processes and key performance indicators, and I understand that there is often a duality between a client being known to both child protection and youth justice agencies that competence in both prescribed entities is required.

I am able to quickly lean and demonstrate a good knowledge of policy and procedures, confidentiality provisions, code of conduct. I am an honest and ethical employee, and I am comfortable working within legislative confinements. I take pride in the work I do and expect complete competence in myself across all areas of my position description. I apply due diligence by familiarising myself with departmental policies and procedures and will seek out assistance and feedback whilst learning a new role.

My skills are highly applicable and easily transferable to the advertised position. I am responsible for multiple projects and areas of work, and as a Senior Detective specialising in Child Protection matters.

I demonstrate and model leadership qualities such as time management, organisational skills, expert knowledge of policing practice, responsiveness to emergent and critical issues, availability to fulfill tasks left unattended in all areas I oversee, providing feedback and critiquing that develops individuals towards enhanced practice and increased self-awareness, and excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills with colleagues, clients, children and young people, community, and government and non-government providers.

I have a current Blue Card.

I am skilled at reviewing reports, overseeing investigations and preparing cases for court. Knowledgeable about resolving staffing issues, training junior detectives and improving team performance with hands-on coaching and assessments.
