Dr. Rajvikram is a specialist in Power and Energy Systems with a core research focus on renewable energy integration, energy modelling, planning and management, and the development of strategic pathways for achieving net zero emissions within electrical power systems. He combines academic excellence, research leadership, and a forward-thinking vision to advance teaching and research priorities within higher education institutions.
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Power and Energy Engineering from the globally ranked University of Queensland, Australia (ranked 40th in the world), and has accumulated over 10,000 citations for his scholarly work. He is internationally recognised for his transformative contributions to energy sustainability, aligning closely with Sustainable Development Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy). He is one of the unique researchers who has developed the SDG 7 index for measuring countries’ progress towards Global Energy transition.
His multidisciplinary research portfolio includes solar PV cooling techniques for thermal energy management, techno-economic analysis of renewable energy systems, artificial intelligence applications in power systems, solar PV-grid connected system studies, battery energy storage technologies, and strategies to enhance climate resilience in power networks.
Dr. Rajvikram is deeply committed to strengthening the university’s research profile through the implementation of robust, innovation-energy driven strategies. He actively fosters high-impact, cross-disciplinary research collaborations and has successfully supervised over 15 postgraduate and undergraduate theses. With more than 150 peer-reviewed publications to his credit, he has been consistently recognised as a Top 2% Scientist globally by Web of Science and Clarivate Analytics.
In addition to his research and teaching, Dr. Rajvikram is passionate about mentoring emerging scholars, building dynamic research cultures, and forging strategic partnerships with industry leaders, government agencies, and international academic institutions. His aspiration is to contribute to the design and delivery of next-generation research frameworks and to amplify institutional research impact on a global scale.
