Telecommunication Network Design – Edith Cowan University (Capstone Project)

• Led a team project to design a cost-effective long-distance communication network between ECU's Joondalup campus and a new Wireless Research Centre in Albany, WA.
• Designed a communication system for 60 workstations at Joondalup and 25 workstations at Albany with target speeds of 1.5 Mbps download and 512 Kbps upload per workstation.
• Incorporated RF spectrum licensing, a very low bit error rate and 99% availability.
• Evaluated alternatives, selected hardware including servers, routers, modulation schemes, and power levels based on design criteria and budget constraints.
• Conducted performance analysis using Opnet simulation software and ensured network scalability for future campuses in Mt Lawley and Bunbury.
• Delivered technical report and presentation in accordance with industry standards.

Energy Management System (EMS) Design – Edith Cowan University

• Developed a hybrid EMS integrating photovoltaic inverter, 24V DC generator, and energy storage inverter.
• Programmed a PIC18F25K80 microcontroller with CANBus and RS485 protocols for real-time signal control and monitoring.
• Integrated LM35 and LDR sensors for environmental-based energy management.
• Created and validated a 4-layer PCB using Altium Designer, considering signal integrity, differential routing, and shielding.
• Generated and optimized a complete Bill of Materials (BoM) using ActiveBoM.
