A bit more about myself and my family

Hello, My family and I have moved here from Sydney to Queensland  in 2021 for a calmer more relaxed lifestyle here in VictoriaPoint. A little about myself I’m a mum of 3 teenage children who each have

their own special needs, I am 47 years old, I have been Married for 29 yrs to

Greg. I’m lucky enough to have a supportive husband who does contract

works in the gaming industry mostly from home.

Everyday I feel I am learning something new, I am always looking to expand

on the skills that I have and to learn brand new skills I am currently studying

youth work to help further develop myself and my skills and knowledge

through open colledges.

I have worked in the childcare industry many, many years. My family has

owned several centers since I was little, I was lucky enough to attended my

mother’s own center and my own children attended with me at our family run

center, I have developed a passion for working with children and helping

them as they grow and develop at their own individual paces. I grew up with

early childcare all around me with my mum and aunties all running centers

and teachers themselves. I am grateful that they passed their passions on to

me. I have developed a very compassion nurturing nature, I’m a carrying

and empathetic person who gives her all to anything she sets her mind too, I

am open and friendly. I feel that I am a responsible person who aims to

thrives as part of a team in any environment.

I’m a mum of three wonderful children that I have been home schooling for

the last 9 years now and I thoroughly enjoy the time that I get to have with

my children each day at home as we learn and grow together. They are all

teenagers now and mostly independent learners, either now learning online

with Tafe, Uni or doing distance education. This has now freed up my days a

little bit and will allow me to get back into the work force again which I’m

really looking forward to doing.

The reason behind why I started home school each of my children were very

different. My eldest Kayla she is now 22yrs of age and has started Uni has,

we all support each other as required. As you can see, we have a wide variety

of traits that we work with at home and every day is taken one day at a time,

one task at a time together. My children have all learnt many skills and are

very self-reliant and independent now. I am looking to share my experiences and assist others in the local community.
