  • I'm currently on a temporary contract in Rural South West Queensland as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care.
  • My role includes reviewing referred and current patients on the ward, reviewing patient's when they present to the Emergency Department
  • When requested attending Residential Aged Care Homes and reviewing referred residents
  • Communicating with GP's and providing suggestions following reviews
  • Organising and running telehealth reviews with remote patient's and the Specialist Palliative Rural Telehealth Service.
  • I attend an MDT every morning and update the teams on palliative patient's.
  • My portfolio is currently PCOC, I am helping the hospital and surrounding health services to implement this and will be providing education on how to use the assessment tool.
  • I provide education on the ward to nurses including in-service's and direct skills on the ward.
