As a self educated digital expert, I worked hard throughout my career to build a brand for myself and my company through innovative thought and digital thinking. Having lived and worked in Adelaide early in my career I would have not achieved the success i have without travelling abroad and working in the UK where digital applications and strategies were and still are at the forefront globally.
BIM and DE are still relatively unknown across our sector, as well as supporting government clients in the application of Information Management principles in line with industry standards. I worked very closely with industry partners to advise on these standards as well as being a key person in the UK BIM Task Group, a government funded entity tasked to support BIM implementation across the country. I worked with universities, governments, industries to support knowledge building and awareness of the UK BIM Policy and still work hard to draw awareness now in Australia around the industry standards built to support government clients all over the world.
I also founded in 2011 the global diversity group Women in BIM which started off as a relatively small user group in the UK and has now grown to represent over 60 countries globally, with WIB representatives all over the world.
At Aurecon i am responsible for the groups Digital Enablement advisory services with a team of 12. My role includes the offering of strategic, technical and management services in BIM and Digital Engineering, with a focus on capability and skill growth.
My role and services were brought into Aurecon through the acquisition of my own business Digital Node which I ran and operated across the UK, USA, Asia and Australia.
As the sole owner and founder of Digital Node I created and formed a business off the back of the development of the UK BIM policy in 2011 in the United Kingdom which essentially was a driver for all government and private clients to adopt BIM and digital services across their asset portfolio.
As the owner of the company I worked with a number of key clients, businesses and institutions across the UK, Europe, the USA and Asia and Australia to offer both BIM and Digital Engineering strategic advise, as well as supporting on the construction technology front. Partnering with innovative companies to offer a wider array of services, Digital Node became a key advisor to clients such as Transport for NSW, Crossrail and a variety of private clients across the sector including architects, engineers and contractors.
