With extensive hands-on experience supporting my daughter, who is diagnosed with severe intellectual impairment and autism, I have developed invaluable skills and a deep understanding of the challenges and needs of individuals living with disabilities.
For the past 17 years, I have been actively involved in supporting my daughter’s development from early childhood through her transition into adulthood. This experience has provided me with the insight and knowledge needed to advocate for her and others within the disability community, a cause for which I am deeply passionate. I have gained practical skills in communication, behavior management, and personalized care, which I am confident will enable me to provide the same level of dedicated support to others in similar situations.
In addition to my personal experience, I bring a strong background in operations management from my current role at Cairns Reef Fishing, where I handle a variety of responsibilities, from managing bookings to resolving customer issues. My ability to juggle numerous tasks, provide exceptional service, and maintain clear communication aligns well with the requirements of a support worker role. My professional background also includes experience as a hotel receptionist and flight attendant, which has further enhanced my ability to work in fast-paced environments while maintaining exceptional customer service. In these roles, I honed my communication, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities, which are essential in providing support and care to clients. Whether coordinating schedules, resolving issues, or ensuring clients’ needs are met, I am dedicated to delivering high-quality service in every role I undertake.
I am eager to bring my compassionate approach, personal experience, and professional skills to ARC and contribute meaningfully to the lives of individuals with disabilities. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how I can contribute to your team and support your clients.
