Advocacy work and to develop and communicate policy recommendations through submissions and presentations; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address complex legislative issues; influence policy outcomes through stakeholder engagement and monitor implementation.

• Employed as part of the dynamic Emergency Department team. The role also encompasses participation in research, education and ongoing professional development. Management and co-ordination of multiple projects including working group to enhance patient access to triage and ED flow.

• Employed to enhance the Emergency Nurse Practitioner Program across all Eastern Health’s (EH) three Emergency Departments at Angliss, Box Hill and Maroondah Hospitals. Role includes generation and coordination of a NP Candidate curriculum and training program, recruitment, liaising with EH executive teams and Emergency Department Senior leaders, NP and NPc orientation and coordination of the role, at all sites. Restructuring and review of the ED NP scope of practice and model of care policy and documents, and assisting with planning and preparation of the briefing paper for a Nurse Practitioner virtual Community of Practice (NPvCOP), regarding plans for further NP role expansion and collaboration across the organisation.

• Working as part of the Eastern Health Communications Team assisting with Aspire to Inspire A2i awards, Eastern Health Weekly newsletter publication - drafting, COVID information and signage and ‘We thank you’ EH campaign.

• Coordinating the 2020 influenza campaign at Eastern Health – Aim to meet the Department of Health and Human services (DHHS) target of 90% uptake of flu vaccines by EH staff. Role included immunising, working in close collaboration with the infection prevention and Control team (IPAC) and infectious diseases Director. Duties involved rostering and management of nurse immunisers, safe storage (strive for 5) and supply of vaccines, scheduling, data entry, marketing and communications, reporting to Eastern Health executive team and the DHHS/VICNIS. Eastern Health received government DHHS award for obtaining 95% vaccination rate for the 2020 campaign

• Lecturing Masters students on topics such as the quality use of medicines- chronic obstructive airways disease and patient education and adherence to medications.

• Teaching assistant and assessor - Eastern Health Clinical School

• Part-time community immunisation role. Working independently prescribing and administering influenza vaccinations throughout Victoria.

• Additional project work alongside clinical role - Co- Development of Alfred Emergency NP Candidate curriculum and co- author research projects.

• The Nurse Practitioner candidacy role enabled advancement of clinical practice skills and knowledge, built upon the Alfred Health values and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council Nurse Practitioner - Competency Standards. Successfully endorsed as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner with the Nurses Board of Victoria, post completion of ENP candidacy period in September 2009. Continued working at the Alfred for a period of 5 years post endorsement via AHPRA.

• Critical Care Nurse Leader (CCNL). This position enabled me to demonstrate leadership and role modelling qualities. Leading the trauma and resuscitation areas within the E&TC. I was also involved in ongoing nursing education and research within this role- Trauma, Reception and Resuscitation Research project (TR &R project)
