Providing clinical pharmacy services to the Neonatal ICU, Colorectal and Peritonectomy service, antenatal, postnatal and paediatric wards. Gap analysis of community compounding pharmacies to ensure they are meeting legislative requirements and identifying areas of improvement.

Responsible for the day to day running of a busy compounding pharmacy group with three locations providing pharmaceutical care to patients. Providing OTP and DAA services along with general and compounded prescriptions. Development of standard operating procedures for the compounding laboratory. Working closely with prominent neonatologists and paediatricians to develop compounding formulations for preparations that are appropriate for these patient populations. Conducting literature searches and providing education for fellow staff members on key areas including compounding and compounding for the paediatric population.

Communicated with patients to collect information about prescriptions and medical conditions or arrange consultations with pharmacists. Compounded all required prescriptions including capsules, liquids, creams, ointments, troches, suppositories etc. Prepared packaging and labels for prescriptions, verifying accuracy of dosage, side effects and interactions. Educated patients on possible drug interactions, potential side effects, and optimal methods of administration. Counselled patients on new medications and OTC products.
