- Completed transition to NICU course through RCH in February 2020
- Studied and completed the Graduate Certificate in Neonatal Intensive Care through the University of Melbourne in 2021
- Recently completed an upskill to care for critically unwell neonates requiring high frequency jet ventilation
- Care for the critically unwell neonate including those receiving respiratory support including the intubated and conventionally ventilated patient, high-frequency oscillatory ventilation, continuous positive airway pressure, high flow nasal prongs and low flow nasal prongs
- Care for the immediately post operative patient requiring pain management, sedation, muscle relaxation and cardiovascular management including fluid resuscitation and inotropic support
- Care for the palliative patient
- Care for patient's with complex venous/arterial access, and assist in procedures such as the insertion of central venous catheters
- Attend critical events and assist with intubation and resuscitation
- Assist in workflow/admission's/discharges within the unit through liaising with nurse managers whilst working in the team support role
- Recognize and respond to the deteriorating neonate through nursing assessment
- Advocate for neonates and their parents/families

- Perform daily and necessary cares for the neonate including feeds (nasogastric, oral, gastrostomy), bathing, nappy, skin and stoma cares

- Work closely with children and families who are undergoing elective and emergency surgeries

- Perform pre-operative checks with patients prior to surgery, including administering pre-operative medications
- Perform post-anaesthetic care in stage 1 and stage 2 recovery for day case patients including routine post anaesthetic observations, medications and discharge education
- Advocate for patients undergoing surgery by performing admission and pre-operative checks, confirming validity of consent, checking allergies and providing post-operative and discharge care

- Care for the patient with a compromised airway or superficial airway (LMA, Nasopharyngeal airway, Guedel airway)
- Control surgical pain using IV analgesia and IV infusions including PCA and epidural infusions.
