Studied and completed the Graduate Certificate in Neonatal Intensive Care through the University of Melbourne in 2021
Recently completed an upskill to care for critically unwell neonates requiring high frequency jet ventilation
Care for the critically unwell neonate including those receiving respiratory support including the intubated and conventionally ventilated patient, high-frequency oscillatory ventilation, continuous positive airway pressure, high flow nasal prongs and low flow nasal prongs
Care for the immediately post operative patient requiring pain management, sedation, muscle relaxation and cardiovascular management including fluid resuscitation and inotropic support
Care for the palliative patient
Care for patient's with complex venous/arterial access, and assist in procedures such as the insertion of central venous catheters
Attend critical events and assist with intubation and resuscitation
Assist in workflow/admission's/discharges within the unit through liaising with nurse managers whilst working in the team support role
Recognize and respond to the deteriorating neonate through nursing assessment
Advocate for neonates and their parents/families
Provide education and support to family member's based on the needs of their child
Perform daily and necessary cares for the neonate including feeds (nasogastric, oral, gastrostomy), bathing, nappy, skin and stoma cares
Care for the patient requiring temperature regulation
Liaise with multidisciplinary teams across a number of specialties to advocate in the best needs of each patient
