Volunteer Work

  • 2022 - Current - Developed a platform for people to reconnect after Covid-19. Initially designed as a one-off 'Pot-luck Bonfire' has developed into a monthly gathering since 2022. Hundreds of people have attended and been blessed by the fellowship and support they've given and received.
  • 2018 - Volunteered for 3 months in Romania - with 3 of my children - working at a Refuge Centre for orphaned children. Helped run weekly activity programs at orphanages and surrounding villages, taught English to children, facilitated distribution of clothing and food to poor villages, conducted a photo-shoot at a blind school, helped in after-school tutoring program, supported staff with counselling sessions.
  • 2017 - Taught English to both children and adults in Bali, Indonesia.
  • 2015-2017 - Facilitated a weekly meet-up for local high-school aged teens, including teaching team work and resilience, trust-building activities, counselling sessions, social outings and good-old-fashioned fun!
  • 2015 - 2017 - Developed a volunteering platform "Hands & Feet" for young people to help elderly, sick and disabled people with a multitude of tasks, including house cleaning, food shopping, car washing, gardening and meal-prepping.
  • 1991-1992 - Trained as a Crisis Pregnancy Counsellor to support single mothers from a low socio-economic background in Vancouver, Canada. Provided education, pre-natal and post-natal counselling, distributed food, baby clothing and equipment to new mothers who couldn't afford to support a baby.
