Ausenco EPCM Lumwana Copper Mine $1.2b ( Zambia)

  • The project was completed within budget and with over 5 million man hours LTI free out of a total of 7.8 million man hours worked. Logistics and freight were executed without delay and new procurement networks were successfully established in southern Africa. At peak construction, 2,300 personnel were employed, with 90% of the work force local.
  • The above lump sum EPC project was completed , Ausenco optimised the process plant to 25 Mt/y and provided EPCM services for another 25 Mt/y crushing circuit and infrastructure for a new open pit at the project.


Newcrest transformation:

  • $500m logistics contract negotiation and settlement
  • Seepage Barrier Feasibility magt $900m circa ( first mine to mine under sea water)
  • Reduced FTE by 35%
  • Contribution to transformation process Under T2 banner with value accretion of $700m +

Established Doorn-Djil Aboriginal Business Unit (General Manager Commercial)

  • Announced in July, Doorn-Djil Yoordaning, a name taken from the Noongar Balladong language of Western Australia, represents a unique “coming together” of industry and community to create a new player in the Australian contracting industry.
  • The new company is initially targeting mining and infrastructure construction contracts, focussing on meeting the needs of private and government customers around the country.
  • Community engagement will play a large part in both the employment and training aspects of the business. Initially, Doorn-Djil will have offices in Newman and Kununurra to support this goal.
  • As a stand-alone business within the Macmahon Group
