• Monitoring the sterile field to ensuring there is no contamination, and assisting in preventing breaks in sterile technique.
• Retrieving additional supplies or equipment as needed during the procedure without contaminating the sterile field.
• Acting as a liaison between the surgical team and other hospital staff, such as radiologists, pathologists, or other departments, to ensure the flow of procedure smoothly.
• Providing support by delivering required instruments or materials to the scrub nurse and surgical team during the operation.
• Keeping accurate records of the surgical procedure, including the time, materials used, patient condition, and any medications or implants administered.
