Area of Research

Randomised controlled trial (RCT) of a psychological intervention for pregnant women with depression in low-resource settings. The intervention was based on the principles of cognitive-behavioural therapy. The screening process for the project included interviewing and screening around 130 potential pregnant women for depressive symptoms. The trial is the first one of its type, and it included a sample of 70 pregnant women with mild to moderate depressive symptoms and six peers. I was solely responsible for data collection and training the peers to deliver the intervention to the intervention group with the supervision of my supervisors.

Clinical Bridging & PD Training in Australia

1. Honorary Clinical Observership-Austin Health | May 2022-May2023|

12 Month IMG training program, including a six-weeks clinical observership (3weeks in emergency and 3 weeks in General Medicine, including admitting, perioperative and ward work ) with full access to the EMR system (CERNER, PowerChart) and all Austin health clinical databases. Responsibilities included history taking from patients presenting in ED or admitted in Gen meds, physical examination, discussion and planning for investigations and treatment protocol and doing appropriate documentation in the Patient Record System under the direct supervision of ED consultants and advanced trainees of the General Medicine ward.
