I'm a former teacher of six years with a degree in Teaching Māori-Medium and a Diploma in Mātauranga Māori. I have taught at numerous Kura Kaupapa Māori and Māori-Medium Kura across Aotearoa.

I also currently teach adult education in a wananga based setting.

I have gained experience in developing and implementing diverse curriculums covering a wide range of subjects and have valuable experience in classroom administration, professional development, project planning and managing, event managing and co-ordination. Equipped with extensive background in versatile education and production environments.

I currently work in a co-governed council with a range of experience in implementing different models and structures in the public sector.

I'm an accelerated learner with a wide range of skills and experience in many different roles with a motivational attitude to contribute and grow any kaupapa that I am a part of.

Experience

  • I was a part of the principal committee that organized the bi-annual week long Kura Kaupapa Māori gathering event "Wiki Hākinakina" in Tamaki Makaurau with an attendance of 1500 students and teachers from across Aotearoa. I was responsible for the logistics to uphold the mana of manaakitanga and accommodate, feed and travel the students to Tāmaki and to all the different locations every day. I also organize the entire formal ball that was held at the end of the week.
  • Managed, organized and co-ordinate 300 talent to attend a tournament for the Mau-rākau game "Ariki" that was shot for television for an entire week.
  • Planned an amazing race trip around the North island for our family reunion, 100 family members involved.
  • Well traveled around Aotearoa and internationally - for cultural experiences and for leisure.
