I'm writing to express my interest in an apprenticeship through Rio Tinto as a Diesel Fitter. My background as an operator at Brockman 2 has taught me a lot within the company especially the values of Care, Courage and Curiosity. I have always worked to a high standard of what I expect from myself and to the standard that my current team demands. I have a background of experience within a workshop as I spent a couple years as a fabricator in Perth before opting to work as an offsider on an RC Drilling Rig before being employed by Rio Tinto for over 2 years.

I'm very familiar with tools and terminology when it comes to the machines we work with onsite and im excited about the opportunity to further develop my skills in a more specialised role. I possess a solid foundation in mechanical aptitude, problem solving skills and a keen attention to detail. These skills, coupled with my strengths as a solution orientated, self motivated and time management individual make me a suitable candidate to contribute effectively to a team setting.

Im enthusiastic about the possibility of continuing my career at Rio Tinto as an apprentice Diesel Fitter and to contribute to the efficiency and reliability of the mining operations.
