  • Operate aircraft in all modes of flight (VFR, IFR, NVIS) as co-pilot or captain, and as part of a single aircraft of multi-ship formation, in order to successfully achieved designated missions.
  • Conduct operational tasks including winching, sling loads, suspended extraction and insertion, roping and rappelling, and aerial shooting, by day and night, to high levels of accuracy.
  • Operate safely and effectively in all airspace categories, and at low level.
  • Deploy to, and operate aircraft efficiently and safely in, both complex built up areas (Sydney/Melbourne CBD), remote areas (central Australia), and littoral environments (embarked on ships)
  • Successfully complete 6-monthly comprehensive emergency checkrides and annual flight reviews including six CIR renewals.
  • Conduct mission planning for local and deployed operations including: navigation, logistics (fuel, airport bookings, accommodation, ground support agencies), personnel, crewing rosters, maintenance tasks and inter-agency liaison.
  • Act as a liaison officer between my flying Unit, and government and non government organisations involved in tasking, in order to achieve integration, effective support, and provide feedback.
  • Maintain a highly professional approach and dedication to technical mastery, organisational alignment, safety management, and continual improvement in competencies.
  • Exhibit highly effective communication and be able to build highly effective teams within my operating environment. Inclusive of this is collaborating closely with enablers (maintenance, logistics, life support equipment) and stakeholders (government agencies, NGO's, civilian agencies)
  • Managed complex emergency situations calmly and effectively, prioritizing crew coordination and problem-solving skills to maintain safety standards.
