Lead raw material, production and site dispatch operations across 2 shifts in the 24/7 manufacturing of 1 million tons of cementitious products annually. Role outcomes:
• Raw material management o Operations and management of raw material stockpiles on site. In excess of 100,000 tons – Safety, Quality, Consumption, Cost and Environmental impact. o SAP transactional stock management – receiving, consumption and accuracy o Ship unloader operations – Safety, Delivery and Productivity of raw material unloading operations from shipments via crane unloader o Stock takes and stock reporting • Product delivery o The Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, Cost and Availability of all plant operations (Dryer and 2 Cementitious ball mill plants) producing 1 Million tons of Cementitious products annually o People leadership of 15 Maintainer Operators over 2, 12 hour shifts daily, operating 7 days a week, 365 days per year o Daily manufacturing reporting o Problem solving o Management of change Achievements within the first two months in my role:
• Review, design and implementing a new Daily Management System in collaboration with maintaineroperators, enhancing communication, operational transparency and continuous improvement
• Root Cause Analyses and Action plan execution, identifying and eliminating material losses and stock adjustments valued at $1 Million dollars per annum
• Recruiting and appointing maintainer-operators, closing 25% vacancy gap
• Empowerment of Maintainer-Operator team – identifying skills and knowledge gaps in operational areas. Networking and aligning subject matter experts within the business in supporting skills and knowledge transfers.
• Culture change leader – Setting direction pace and tone, coaching and mentoring team members in adopting an infinite mindset and ideals
