Overview

  • I am a clinically focused General Cardiologist / Interventional Cardiologist, currently working Darwin, Top End, Northern Territories.
  • I have extensive experience working in regional/ remote areas where a high degree of independence in required.
  • I am a good team player and a hard worker
  • I seek to contribute to patient care and service delivery to the highes possible standards.
  • Previously due to 19AB restrictions as a foreign graduate I had restrictions in working in most urban areas across Australia. My 19AB restriction end in October 2025 and I am actively looking for alternate possibilities out of the NT.

Interventional Skills

  • Diagnostic coronary angiography
  • Intracoronary Imaging (IVUS and OCT)
  • Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)
  • FFR/iFR assessment
  • Complex PCI STEMI. Rotablation/ LM PCI/ Bifurcation PCI
  • First operator experience in Balloon Aortic Valvuloplasty (Further experience required to be independent operator)
  • First operator experience in PFO closures. (Further experience required to be independent operator

Skills in General Cardiology

  • Transthoracic Echocardiogram (Performing and Reporting)
  • CT Coronary Angiogram (Level B)
  • Exercise Stress Test and Stress Echocardiogram
  • Transoesophageal Echocardiogram (Requires short period of retraining if need to perform)
  • Temporary Pacing wire insertion
  • Pericardial Tap
  • Permanent Pacemaker Insertion (Needs retraining)

General Cardiology Experience

Extensive experience in general cardiology as Advance Trainee  and  as Specialist Cardiologist in Darwin.  These include:

  • Managing Acute and chronic cardiology patients
  • Have experience managing severe End Stage Heart Failure patients awaiting heart transplantation.
  • Cardiology outpatient clinics, including specialist heart failure clinics and arrythmia clinics
  • Presenting and advocating for patients in cardiosurgical conferences and Multidisciplinary Team Meetings.
  • Management of patients presenting with complex valvular issues such as rheaumatic heart disease, mechanical valve thrombosis, infective endocarditis.
  • Frequent Outreach Clinics with in remote populations in the Northern Territories. Cardiologist in charge of 2 remote communities in the Top End.

General Medicine Experience

  • I have 3 years of general medicine experience, (2 years as a Basic Physician Trainee in Ireland and 1 year as a Specialist Registrar in General Internal Medicine)
  • This gave me a wide breadth of exposure to acute medicine and chronic illnesses across various specialties including oncology, respiratory, rheaumatology, geriartric medicine and nephrology
  • Procedural skills that I have obtained throughout my training include Pleural Aspiration, Ascitic Tap, DC Cardioversion and Lumbar Puncture
