My role encompassed emergency management and stabilisation of over 50 + patients a day, outpatient and inpatient management in a high flow, high pressure environment.
Performed supervised surgeries on over 900 + patients and led independent surgeries of over 100 + patients including trauma, arthroscopies and arthroplasties.
Arthroscopy experience includes sports and trauma related arthroscopies of the knee, shoulder, ankle and hip. I have completed basic arthroscopy training including portal placements and diagnostic arthroscopies.
Trauma experience is extensive, involving both adult and paediatric trauma, simple trauma to compound and polytraumas with neurovascular injuries encompassing initial stabilisation to surgical planning and post op management.
Arthroplasty experience in hip and knee arthroplasties- hemi and total hip replacements, total knee replacements.
Worked directly under the Head of Department of Orthopaedics, learning the best management of various sports and traumatic injuries.
Effectively managed perioperative complications with prompt recognition and decisive interventions.
Enhanced surgical success rates through meticulous preoperative planning and skilled surgical techniques.
Conducted thorough physical examinations to identify musculoskeletal abnormalities and formulate appropriate treatment plans.
Collaborated with multidisciplinary teams including vascular surgeons, plastic surgeons,anaesthesiologists and physiotherapists to provide optimal patient care, ensuring timely intervention and recovery.
