Responsibilities


  • Responsible in the conduct of transmission line inspection within area of jurisdiction
  • Performs daily structure-to-structure inspection of transmission line facilities (wood poles and steel structures – towers) taking note of the following defects: a. Missing tower parts b. Scoured or eroded tower foundation c. Rotten/leaning poles and cross arms d. broken/rusty insulators and overhead ground wire (OHGW) e. inspect grounding integrity f. safe/acceptable conductor/Right-of-Way clearance g. cut/melted connectors h. cut/stranded/loose conductors, vibration dampers and spacers
  • Prepares accomplishment reports on transmission line inspection and findings
  • Performs overhead and ground distribution/transmission line works
  • Implements climbing works on wood poles, concrete poles, steel poles and steel towers
  • Performs cold line maintenance works replacing corroded/ defective line hardware’s, insulators and connectors, rotten wood poles/ crossarms
  • Hauling of line hardware’s to job site
  • Pole setting/excavation of pole holes including erection and dressing/affixing components to poles
  • Pay-out/stringing and full sagging of overhead ground wires and conductors
  • Replacement of damaged spacers for 2-bundle and 4-bundle wires
  • Corrective/hotspot correction/ bolt tightening and replacement of heated terminal connectors and drop wires in substation switchyards
  • Responses to transmission line trouble for the immediate restoration of power
  • Conducts good housekeeping and observes safe practices during overhead line works
