Texstyle commenced as a fabric design studio for window furnishings which quickly morphed into a wholesaler developing our own fabrics and sourcing from overseas and contract coatings/finishings in Australia.

The business was sold to Texstyle's largest client.

During the development of the product range, we also developed an in house financial and warehouse systems.

Brella was Australia's leading commercial and textile manufacturer.

  • 1976 Commenced as an Internal Sales Clerk
  • 1977 Spent 12 months on the factory floor learning all the different processes of coating textiles.
  • 1978 Posted to NSW as sales rep for the Sydney plant which had just taken over a competitor. Won and developed a new client resulting in a 415M contract per annum to the head office.
  • 1979 Promoted to General Manager, decreased the labour force by half by introducing new manufacturing efficiencies and equipment. Grew the revenue by 35% and stopped the losses with NP around 5% of revenue.
  • 1979 Promoted to Group General Manager in Melbourne. Instrumental in purchasing a new $2m coating line, which would replace multiple aging machines. Ran events such as Australian Golf Open where we were a major sponsor

About Me

Having worked in both small and large teams throughout my career, and worked with almost every ethnicity and socio-economic group, I consider my self to be an excellent "people person" and can quickly build a strong rapport to form part of a negotiation strategy when solving contentious or difficult issues.


Accomplishments

At the time of purchasing the Ballarat Beer Festival over 9 years ago, the attendance was dropping - we have grown this every year with the exception of 2021 (COVID- but we did manage to run the festival after a 5 day lockdown) and 2022 (COVID affected).

Recipient of multiple awards from an International network of Freight Forwarders for services.

Recipient of design awards from the Textile Clothing and Footwear Council.
