My role as a Bail Support Worker is to work closely work with Prisoner-In- Reach Lawyer (PIR) to assist with people who have been held in detention and seeking assistance from Bail Support pertaining to Bail.


If a person is suitable, I develop a bail support plan and provide a report (either verbal or written) to the legal representative and to the court where relevant.


If a Remand prisoner appearing at Broome MC, Derby MC or by Video Link may be remanded in custody with no bail set or bail refused, or may have bail set but have not yet been able to meet the required bail conditions, such as surety or accommodation requirements. I enquire looking to family/Friends where client would be able to stay if bailed. There are times where client could reside out of the Broome area therefore he would be conveyed to his home address by Bail Support Service.


At all times the client will be contacted and informed of Next Court date, up coming appointments or collected and conveyed to appointment/s
