Shell TGS Project (Sept 2023 - Ongoing)

• Working as a contractor for Shell, responsible for setting up a field lab in Chinchilla, QLD, for the TGS Basin exploratory wells.
• Led day-to-day operations of the lab, overseeing sampling, analysis, and quality control during the Examine Phase of the project.
• Ensured smooth execution of the project in the field, managing logistics, coordinating team activities, and reporting results to Shell’s technical team.

Woodside

• Conducted a study on Microbial Induced Corrosion (MIC) at the Woodside GWA platform, using SGS Microbial Risk Assessment Services (MiRAS), including NGS and qPCR (SRP, Tot P, Met) to analyze microbial activity in the potable water system.
• Delivered data-driven insights and recommendations to mitigate corrosion risks, collaborating with Woodside’s technical teams to ensure system integrity.

Santos

• Conducted condensate testing for offshore operations at Varnus Island, Western Australia, and managed multiphase tracer testing in the Cooper Basin (Moomba), measuring the flow rates of gas, condensate, and water.
• Supported well testing operations and provided technical recommendations based on the analysis of test data to enhance production and streamline operations.

Origin Energy

• Monitored microbial induced corrosion (MIC) in production casing across multiple wells in and around Roma, QLD, collecting and analyzing fluid samples to assess corrosion risks.
• Delivered regular reports and recommendations to Origin Energy to mitigate corrosion and optimize well integrity.

• Managing day to day operations of the labs and supervising personnel in the SGS PVT lab in UAE.
• Overseeing quality assurance, conducting quality controls, analysing and interpretation of laboratory results where applicable.
• Determining operations issues, maintaining lab records and manuals.
• Managing lab purchase of inventory, storage and supplies usage.
• Resolving technical problems of analytical instruments.
• Liaising with client in preparing sample analysis proposal and quotations.
• Preparing monthly Invoices and creating P/L for the labs.
• Supervision of lab chemist and creating work order for samples as per the client analysis requirement.

• Working as a global field chemist for PAL (portable analytical laboratory) for SGS and working around different oil producing regions around the world (Aberdeen, Houston, Alaska, GCC, Africa, Iraq, Australasia).
• Main Responsibilities include Perform PVT study on all kinds of reservoir hydrocarbon fluids using SGS MiniPvt cell.
• Compositional Analysis of petroleum fluids and gas by Gas Chromatography.
• Online analysis of produced gas using SGS LNG & LPG Gaspro GC.
• Calibration, Maintenance and troubleshooting of all lab instruments.
• Perform oil and gas sampling from Storage tanks, Separators, Export pipeline, Bottom Hole etc—and perform analysis using various analytical instruments as required by the client using Standard operating procedures.
• Analysis of H2S, Mercaptans and COS in gas and liquid by UOP 212 and UOP 163.
• Mercury Analysis in gas and Liquids by Sir Galahads and DMA-1.
• Sulfur Analysis in Liquid and gas by GC-FPD and GC-SCD.
• Reservoir Produced Water analysis using Ion Chromatography, ICP-OES, Karl Fischer, HAC kit and various titration.
• Density and Viscosity measurement of reservoir fluids by Anton Paar Stabinger SVM 3000.

• Working in GC department which specialises in the analysis of crude oil, drilling fluids, and gases coming through PVT, Distillation and various Oil field Installations.
• Main duties include: Calibrations of gas chromatograms with calibration gas standards and analysis of all the gases (flash gas, cryo gas, DV point gases, separator gases, fuel gases, distillation gases) to C7+ and C11+.
• Analysis of crude oil samples to C36+ by cold on column injector gas chromatogram.
• Characterisation of crude oils and Drilling fluids by the carbon number basis.
• Co-ordination of all the projects related to GC analysis.
• Training all the newly hired with the use of all the instruments and carrying out analysis.
• To ensure all the lab instruments are in good working condition and carry out maintenance if required.
• Calibration of GC-SCD by using NPL gas standard (Gas chromatogram-sulfur chemiluminescence detector) and sulfur speciation of gases and sulfur speciation in crude oils by 3-chlorothiophene spike method.
• Analysis of methanol in crude oil by butanol spike method.
• Calibration of cryette and densitometer.
• Finger print and PNA analysis of crude oils.
