Qualifications:

• Transition to Speciality Practice in Emergency Nursing (12 months, completed)
• Rapid Emergency Assessment and Critical Thinking (REACT) course in Emergency Nursing (6 months, completed)

Key responsibilities & skills:

Peripheral intravenous cannulation, phlebotomy, efficient primary assessments, prioritisation of tasks, recognition of acute deterioration, enhanced critical thinking and problem solving, team work, team leading of areas within E&TC (Cubicle Nurse Team Leader), effective communication with all medical staff, responding to and interpreting cardiac monitoring, facilitating ECGs, patient advocation, recognising and de-escalating behaviours of concern, safe administration of medications, conducting Mental State Exams, precepting student nurses

• Software use: Electronic Medical Record, Omnicell medication dispensary

• Cardiology, post operative cardiothoracic surgery and heart failure nursing (6 months)
• General rehabilitation, dementia + delirium nursing (6 months)

Key responsibilities & skills:

Managing a 4-5 patient load, team nursing, Central Venous Catheter (CVC) and Intracoastal catheter (ICC) care and removal, infection prevention, patient hygiene, proficient time management, non-pharmaceutical de-escalation of delirium, venepuncture, timely completion of program hurdles, promoting healthy and respectful team environments, safe administration of medications.
