As the Facilities Management (FM) Applications Manager I reported to the ICT Director, and managed a team of 8 that provided technical support of FM Applications at Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH). I ensured the availability of the FM Applications whilst exceeding defined service levels. I also ensured financial, people and customer targets are achieved or exceeded to ensure contractual KPI's are met with the State.

Applications Consultant

  • As an applications consultant and latterly senior applications consultant my role involved carrying out application support, development, upgrades and integration, identifying and resolving system problems, rectifying faults and ensuring an exceptionally high-quality level of service to hospital.
  • The applications supported a wide array of service lines including hospital sterilization TDOC, RTLS and staff safety mechanisms, autonomous vehicle operations and campus parking and payments.
  • Varying OS, DB and integration technologies including but not limited to Windows Server 2008, 2012 and 2016. SQL server 2008, 2012 and 2016 with integrations via Intersystems Ensemble (ESB).
  • User focused role allowed me to familiarize myself with new technologies deployed within the hospital whilst also refreshing my understanding of network security fundamentals (ISE, subnets, firewall configurations), windows enterprise technologies (VMWare virtualization, active directory, LDAP, DHCP, DNS) and application deployment mechanisms (SCCM).
  • The critical nature of providing services to a metropolitan hospital enabled me to critically understand how to plan, test and deploy new programs and upgrades into the environment with minimal to no downtime.
  • I utilized ITIL methods through transition stages to operational services and maintained ITIL certification foundation and specialist modules when available.
  • As part of my customer facing responsibilities I would engage with key stakeholders of each application or department or service line to understand their requirements, expectations and pain points, convert those into business cases with the aim of triggering upgrades, system development, or migration projects with the facilities management company.
  • Significant vendor engagement and relationship building to develop a partnership in delivering value beyond the originally scoped services.

  • Co-ordinated, delegated and resolved faults identified by the customer with B*Spoke product designed by British Telecom Group created for the MOD to manage and safely store items of an explosive nature.
