Profile Summary: My name is Rob. 36 years old I've been in Darwin for 10years and counting. I came here as a foreign worker under Visa, then I was thankful and fortunate enough to get a citizenship and raise a family and purchased a property. Darwin is my home now and I am looking forward to work here as a local and my objective is to find a long term job that matches my skills and interest and a company that values hard working people and understand the balance of life and work.
Automotive Background Summary: 15years experience in Automotive industry. Dealership standard. On 2006 I started as an Apprentice mechanic along side with my older brother and as a young boy way back then I possessed interest on anything that moves and rotates and my curiosity leads to dismantling and try to understand how it works then attempt to assemble it with 50/50 chance that it may work again. But with the help and guidance of my brother I slowly develop the urge to aim for a higher skill to learn. And when my brother got the Visa to work here in Australia my automotive career starts in Mitsubishi Phil. as an apprentice, Junior Tech. Senior Tech. to Foreman/Lead man. And my Dealership put me on Focus Training to acquire Master Technician. Then I compete 2 times on National Skills Olympic Mitsubishi. Didn't win the first one in 2010. But after that , when I had my second chance to compete again in 2012 I challenged myself that leads me to taking home the championship award. That was an overwhelming experience. But that didn't stop me from wanting to learn new things. I also work in Mercedes Benz Phil. for a short period of time. Then I got offered jobs to get focus training on Honda Phil. that last for 3months continuous training until I got the Visa to work here in Australia Thanks to Barramundi Group now DMG They gave me a chance to expand my horizons. Currently my jobrole is Diagnostic Tech in VW. I already started doing the master tech. training before COVID hits that prevents us from travelling anywhere and after that they come up with a new way of training which is LOT (live online training) The ongoing training I'm at is mostly Product Knowledge and and few Technical training.
