Developed and implemented the M-Tag system, focusing on efficient electronic toll collection and No parking fine deduction using RFID technology, leading to smoother traffic management and reduced manual intervention.
The project was selected for the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University stall during the Keraleeyam event, a prestigious platform by the Government of Kerala to highlight the state's progress and cultural heritage.
Gained invaluable experience through interactions with diverse individuals and exposure to industry professionals, making this one of my most cherished student experiences.
Implementation of M-Tag (Best Project Award)
The M-Tag system was developed to automate toll collection and unauthorized parking fine deduction using RFID technology, aimed at improving urban traffic management. Each vehicle is assigned an RFID tag, and readers are installed at toll booths and strategic locations throughout the city. As vehicles pass these points, the system automatically identifies them, deducting toll charges from pre-registered accounts without requiring manual payments. In addition, the system monitors parking violations, automatically deducting fines when vehicles enter restricted areas or no-parking zones. This not only reduces congestion at toll plazas but also ensures effective enforcement of parking regulations. The system significantly enhances traffic flow, reduces the need for manual intervention, and minimizes human errors. By providing real-time data on vehicle movement and parking violations, the M-Tag system supports better traffic management and more efficient city planning. This innovative approach earned the Best Project Award in the Electrical and Electronics Department, highlighting its potential for modern urban infrastructure solutions.
