Contract Manager

I am responsible for managing the client relationship, and contract deliverablesin Electrical. Engineering, Maritime, Civil and Automotive. I work in consultation with administration and Faculty across the TAFE Queensland footprint. Responsibilities include:

  • Execute high level project management skills to prioritise, manage and support contract management processes at TAFE Queensland North. Possess highly developed research, analytical and problem-solving skills to gather and compile information, develop reports and make educated decisions and recommendations with particular emphasis on corporate and academic governance
  • Manage successful implementation and completion of TAFE Queensland North Contracts in a timely manner, utilising project management skills both individually and collaboratively with team members to maximise outcomes and reduce legal or financial risk
  • Interpret and apply TAFE Queensland legislation and policy as it applies to contracts, agreements, etc
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant training legislation, regulations, policies and guidelines and engage collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders (including state networks) to ensure compliance with TAFE Queensland’s statutory obligations

I was responsible for offshore commercial business development activities to increase TAFE Queensland’s global market share including:

  • Managing the development of quotations, costings proposals, tenders and contracts written for clients within the target market, ensuring they are compliant with domestic and host country legislation and requirements
  • Representing TAFE Queensland at relevant international groups, events and expos to cultivate key relationships and remain at the forefront of industry trends and developments

I was responsible for the commercial business development of the Maritime and General Education Faculties within the Cairns, Cape and Torres Strait Regions. Responsibilities included:

  • Work effectively with multi-functional teams within TAFE Queensland such Executive, Marketing, Customer Service and relevant delivery teams to identify and develop market opportunities
  • Project manage suitable opportunities
  • Effectively track and meet my financial KPIs
  • Research, identify and secure new business to increase TAFE Queensland’s market share by travelling bi-monthly to service communities, completing training needs analysis to create and present quotes and proposals persuasively and attending relevant industry networking events
  • Liaise with the Portfolios to accurately cost the delivery of training and customise delivery strategies to meet the client’s operational requirements for the training to occur either at a TAFE Queensland Campus, remotely, or onsite at the client’s premises
  • Accurately communicate the necessary delivery strategy details and client information to the Business Development support team for the creation of contracts and management of enrolment paperwork

Achievements:

  • Working as part of a successful bid team, securing the Pacific Maritime Training Services Tender valued at $30 million dollars for the Cairns Region
  • Contributing $7.2 million in revenue during the reporting period from 2017 – 2023
  • Converting 312 opportunities to secure the above revenue figure for TAFE Queensland North Region
  • Trusted in providing training and direction to new Business Development staff
  • Creating the first draft of the Business Development Officer “how to” guide for the North Region
