Rosie Sains (SAIROS)

Summary

Underpinning my work is a strong mission to support young people to live a full and meaningful life by cultivating safety and connection with their community, and helping them discover their values and strengths. I maintain an open-minded and curious perspective, placing the client as expert in their lives. I uphold genuine compassion and empathy for my clients.

My work experience to date has allowed me to hone these counselling skills and adapt them to a wide range of presenting concerns and diverse backgrounds. I believe I work effectively and ethically with regards to case noting and case management, safety support. I value treating all people with respect and dignity, clients and colleagues alike. I have an optimistic, friendly and professional disposition despite working in an often fast-paced and crisis-related environment.

In my spare time, I like to remain physically active and enjoy nature wherever possible. I love reading, creating art and watching documentaries. I am currently interested in topics and theories surrounding neurodiversity, gender and sexuality, suicidal ideation and self-harm, self-compassion, acceptance and commitment therapy, expressive therapies and dialectical behaviour therapy.
