University Overview

  • At UNSW, I studied how media is predominantly used in real life and its social and global effects. This made me analyze and connect the media thesis with the society thesis.
  • Media studies made me explore everyday media use, such as media used for politics and transnational. Media studies could be classified into two categories: how people use media and how media can manipulate people.
  • By analyzing two topics, I understood the entire concept of the media field, focusing on the societal aspect, such as hegemony that comes from fake news and people trying to avoid it by creating trustable news and social groups.
  • I also learned about the actual broadcasting field and skills, such as video editing and writing in a news style to provide news to audiences.
  • I also attended courses about marketing, film studies, and biology.
  • In the marketing course, I learned how to effectively catch audiences' attention by citing previous artwork or using controversial topics. Because of that, I became interested in global issues and artworks that global citizens would pay attention to.
  • In film studies, I studied film features of film history. It helped me understand the flow of history and liberal arts. Additionally, it gave me a creative perception of thinking.
  • I studied human body circulation in the biology course, specifically nutrition circulation and essential nutrients. Studying with them taught me how to use Excel tools and focus on details. It also made me think in an induction way.
