  • Under the supervision of my preceptor I administered expressed breast milk to premature babies in the special care nursery via the nasogastric tube.
  • attended and documented the appropriate cares for the nasogastric tube such as positioning, aspirate ph level and ensuring to reduce incidence of pressure areas forming on nares.
  • calculated the fluid requirement (mls/kg/ per day) for each individual patient on the ward to ensure not to overload the patients
  • under supervision handled the hourly cares of the patients including pressure area care while also performing checks for the incubator, ensuring the the temperature and humidity were at the appropriate levels for the patient.
