Summary

Since graduating with a degree in International relations and Anthropology in the summer of 2022, I have worked across a range of customer service and administrative roles in Sydney and spanning the length of the UK. Since moving to Australia 6 months ago I have worked as a hostel manager in Bondi (Bondi Beach Backpackers) for 5 months. During this time customer service skills were key as well as having knowledge of computer systems and of course dealing with specific guest requests. As the site representative for a nationwide business in the UK, my experiences have involved creating the daily schedules for a team of technicians including prioritising key work and being in charge of the administration whilst being within a direct customer facing role. I have a keen interest in global affairs and a broad range of sports, having learnt the key importance of teamwork to success through my experiences of playing soccer since the age of 4.

Hostel Manager

  • Whilst working for Bondi Beach Backpackers within the role of manager, I was responsible for the daily check in and check outs within the hostel as well as dealing with the administrative side of the business. This included having the main hostel phone line diverted through to my mobile so great customer service skills were vital. Also as the manager I was responsible for over 100 guests within the building, answering queries in regards to their stay but also providing a safe and comfortable atmosphere for people to work in. Taking payments both in cash and through card transactions were also key parts of the role so accurate cash handling and mathematical skills skills with payments helped me undertake this role to the best of my abilities.

Professional Vehicle Restoration for Insurance Companies

  • Within this role I was tasked to remove fallout contamination from vehicles across sites all over the country working closely with insurance companies and with various hazardous substances. Also gaining COSHH and First Aid Certification within the role. Dealing with customers on a face to face level and collating detailed paperwork for insurance purposes. During my time within this role, one of the main tasks was interacting with customers nationwide whilst handling multi-vehicle claims.

  • Within this role I had direct daily communication with both Audi and Porsche dealerships, from the senior management team, sales advisors, service team and their customers. This entailed keeping accurate documentation and providing records of the restoration work being conducted on the vehicles within these dealerships as well as managing the daily schedule for up to 12 technicians. A key part of this role was the vehicle movement control in a busy compound of over 1000 cars dealing with vehicles that were worth upwards of £170,000. Curating succinct and precise paperwork of the restoration process for each individual vehicle, to the point of client sign off, was crucial.

  • Working as a Service Advisor on the Sytner Mercedes Benz contract, the primary objectives were to ensure that Mercedes Benz customers who called in were booked into appointments ranging from Service and MOT to repair work on their vehicle. The key skills were demonstrating a high level of customer service and knowledge of issues relating to the vehicles, as well as up selling service plans where applicable.
