Sabrina Phillips

In 2022 I completed a Bachelor of Arts at Macquarie University; majoring in Journalism and Non-Fiction Writing, with a minor in Radio and Podcast. After the last four years of study, alongside insightful internships, I am eager to begin my professional career; contributing and growing within a thriving workplace.

My degree has provided me with a strong foundation in verbal and written communication, whilst also building the transferable skills necessary to flourish in any work environment.

My time spent in the industry through internships has given me key insights into the workforce; the attitude and work ethic required to achieve tasks successfully.

My years of casual work, particularly as a nanny, have strengthened my interpersonal skills, time management and problem solving skills.

I am tech savvy, organised, honest and passionate.

Journalism Internship - Decisive Publishing

Over a six week period I work as a junior journalist writing for CommsDay and The North Sydney Sun, both titles owned by Decisive Publishing. 

Key responsibilities:

- Rewriting press releases for publication.

- Preparing and conducting interviews.

- Research for news stories.

Media  Internship  - Seton Villa 

Seton Villa is a not-for-profit charity, responsible for housing women living with disabilities in the Macquarie precinct.

Key responsibilities:

- Updating website content using copywriting skills.

- Reporting on events.

- Producing content for the monthly newsletters.

- Drafting social media posts and emails.
