I am a respectful, empathetic and knowledgeable Clinical Nurse. My mindset and actions are guided by my personal values of diversity, resilience, respect and honesty, among many others. I have 30+ years’ experience as a nurse and within hospital settings. I am currently a Clinical Nurse in cancer care at St John of God Murdoch. My extensive nursing career has allowed me opportunities to work in medical, oncology and surgical wards. I take great pride in the skills and abilities I have developed and nurtured throughout my career. More recently, these capabilities have enabled me to teach and mentor within my field. Teaching and mentoring in this profession can be extremely challenging, especially considering the current global pandemic. When I think of my career in the future, I aim to maintain my reliable practice as a nurse while also building upon my leadership and practical teaching skills.
