Tasks and Accountabilities:

• Set up the operating room with the necessary sterile supplies and surgical equipment for the procedure.

• Give all patients nursing care prior to, during, and right after operation.

• In order to get consent, educate patients and their families about anaesthesia and surgical techniques. Help obstetricians and surgeons with both elective and emergency surgery procedures.

• Verify that surgical materials and emergency drugs are available.

• Maintain open lines of communication in order to address patient care needs with the surgical team and other medical personnel. To protect the safety of the operating crew and the patients, utilise surgical equipment with appropriate care and handling.

• Depending on the type of surgery, prepare the sterile trolley. · Sterilise any clothing, gloves, equipment, and supplies needed for surgery.

• Get tools and items ready for sterilisation.
