Placement Interests

I’m genuinely excited about this placement at Terang and Mortlake Health Service because it brings together so many things I care about—digital health, teamwork, and improving the quality of care for patients. The chance to be involved in implementing a system like Chefmax feels meaningful to me. I’ve seen firsthand how good communication and well-organized systems can make a real difference in healthcare, especially in fast-paced or resource-limited settings. Coming from a clinical background and now studying public health, I really want to apply what I’ve learned in a setting where collaboration matters—between departments like dietetics, nursing, speech pathology, and catering. I’d love to be part of the team making that communication smoother and more efficient through this new system. I’m especially interested in learning how projects like this are coordinated in real time—how people are trained, how systems are tested, and how feedback is used to make things better. I know placements are about learning, but I also hope to genuinely support the team, whether that’s helping staff adjust to the new system or offering ideas on how to improve workflows. Another reason I’m drawn to this placement is because it’s set in a rural area. I’ve always wanted to understand how healthcare operates outside of large city hospitals, and I think this experience will give me insight into what works, what’s challenging, and how services can be adapted to better support local communities. Overall, I see this as an opportunity to grow, contribute, and be part of something that will have a lasting impact on the way care is delivered at TMHS. I’m really looking forward to being part of it.
