• Data Lineage : Designed and developed an in-house data lineage solution that identifies data relationships at both the table and column levels by processing query files and extracting metadata using regular expressions. This automated approach enhances the understanding of data flow and interdependencies, significantly reducing analysis time and manual effort, resulting in substantial cost savings. Also used a goggle sheet [UI built using app script] as an UI for this lineage solution.
• Virtual Query Labelling : Implemented virtual query labelling using our data lineage solution. By analyzing job statistics in GCP, I identified the tables involved in each query and linked them to the corresponding data stream through our lineage tool. Additionally, I developed a dashboard that aggregates and displays job statistics at the stream level, providing valuable insights into performance and resource utilization.
• Document Automation : Automated the process of generating support handover documents following code changes. Previously, developers manually created these documents detailing the changes made. By leveraging Jira automation rules, GitHub, and Vertex AI, I automated the documentation process, where Vertex AI analyzes and explains the code changes. This initiative, the first AI-driven solution in our project, has been highly appreciated for significantly reducing manual effort, minimizing human errors, and generating substantial cost savings.
