Roles And Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals that are culturally appropriate for children from 0-6 years old.
  • Prepare meals and snacks in a timely manner that fits the service's route.
  • Ensure that all food is stored in compliance with Health Regulations.
  • Evaluate the menu on a regular basis.
  • Seek feedback from families and staff regarding the meals provided and adjust future menus incorporating ideas given.
  • Ensure fridges and stove are regularly cleaned.
  • Promote high quality health and safety for adults and children.
  • Provide assistance to the teaching team regarding food and cooking experience for children.
  • Involve children in kitchen activities as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate confidentiality, respect, and trust.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings.
  • Aware of and assist in the management of the budget including the choices of food and use of purchases.
  • Ensure that all guests' wishes are met as far as reasonably possible.
  • Perform all tasks such as mise en place, cleaning, setting, and other general service requirements.
  • Maintain bar and dining room miscellaneous supplies and notify management of low stocks for re-order.
  • Ensure that all tasks set are completed in the time allocated and to the standards set by the Hotel.
  • Ensure that stations are clean and clear throughout the service.
  • Report all comments/complaints/problems to the supervisor.
  • Liaise with the department supervisor to ensure that the preparations and mise en place are correct and the standard set by the hotel.
  • Assist other staff ensuring the department is ready for service.
  • Ensure that service is discrete and efficient at all times.
  • Undertake any other duties.
